You build what the user never sees and cannot live without: the services, APIs, and systems that stay fast and correct under load.

What you’ll do

Design and build services and APIs other teams depend on.
Model data and keep it consistent as the system grows.
Make it fast and correct under real load.
Integrate AI features without the system falling over.

Your stack

Go, Python, Java, Rust, Node, Postgres, gRPC, and a cloud. Or your equivalent. We care about the ability, not the exact tools.

The one hard requirement: you are AI-native

You do not just use AI tools, you build with them. You are fluent with agentic coding (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot) and you ship faster because of it, not despite it. You have taste about when to trust the model and when not to, you write checks or evals for anything that matters, and you turn vague problems into shipped software in days. If AI coding is still a novelty to you rather than how you already work, this is not the role.

You are probably a fit if

You have built backend systems real users depended on.
You think about correctness, latency, and failure modes before you write code.
You know distributed systems bite, and you design for it.

Logistics

Remote, global. Full time. Total compensation is $165k to $360k depending on level and location.
